Why have something that can do just one thing when you could have it do more? That is a common thought in today's society. It happens at work. Instead of doing just one job at a time and completing it, we have become masters of multi-tasking, working on and completing numerous projects simultaneously. These may look more like a bench than a footrest. In fact, they can be used as excess seating when company arrives. They can also be a way to store extra linens, sheets and pillowcases for those guests who may not only visit for a few hours, but may decide to stay the night.
