In our kitchen alone, we have a set of ceramic plates, a teapot and a ceramic tea strainer. We are very fond of these items since the material makes it easy for them to be cleaned. As a matter of fact you can use a dishwasher to tidy things up for you, and microwaving any items made of ceramics is definitely a safe thing to do. Another task that requires some skills and patience is drilling ceramic tile, common drills can easily slide if you push too hard when you have realized how tough the tile really is.
